PerkinElmer Collaborates with Robert McDowall

By Drug Discovery Trends Editor | June 12, 2009

For over 35 years, Dr. McDowall has combined his analytical chemistry background and industry-wide experiences in all aspects of laboratory equipment qualification and computer validation to ensure that compliance programs are sufficiently robust. His experiences and critical insights will enable PerkinElmer to further address current and emerging customer needs.

“The combination of Dr. McDowall’s experience in analytical instrument qualification (AIQ), knowledge of CSV, and his status as a trained auditor makes him an ideal partner,” commented Dusty Tenney, president, Laboratory Services, PerkinElmer. “We believe that this collaboration augments and strengthens our internal expertise as we continue to provide our customers with market leading laboratory compliance solutions.”

Strategies for Success in China Life Sciences

China continues to emerge as a life sciences market with significant opportunity, despite the global economic downturn.

Following its successful acquisition of Biomatic, a laboratory services and qualification company, in 2005, OneSource further broadened its portfolio of regulatory compliance services with LabMetrix Technologies SA in 2008. OneSource offers one of the industry’s most robust instrument qualification solutions and now McDowall’s expertise reinforces this leading position through knowledge and methods that integrate changing regulatory requirements into PerkinElmer’s broad multi-vendor compliance solutions.

“I am excited by the opportunity to work with PerkinElmer,” said Dr. Bob McDowall, principal of McDowall Consulting. “By combining our knowledge and strengths to focus and expand on the qualification and validation services offered by OneSource we hope to help customers minimize the costs of maintaining compliance while staying ahead of changing regulatory requirements.”
