Packaging Solutions for Pharmaceutical Unit Dose

By Drug Discovery Trends Editor | March 9, 2009

PTI Packaging Systems announced Toyo Machine Manufacturing will exhibit stick packaging machinery at Interphex 2009.

Toyo will exhibit a 6-lane stick pack machine for precise powder dosage applications in the Kyoto America/ Toyo Machine Manufacturing Booth. The Toyo Model TM-50-6 is a fully automated six lane stick pack machine which forms, fills, and seals stick packages in a method unique to the industry; sealing bars are kept away from the primary package by forming a raised biased fin seal.

The TM-50-6 demonstration machine is compact in design, easy to operate and provides simple accessibility for cleaning and maintenance. Automatic functions include automated film unwind for roll feeding, highly accurate slide-dosing volumetric filler with level probe and vibration assist, double horizontal sealing design, color touch screen control panel, aspiration unit, and automatic stick rejection.

  • Fill Volume: Up to 10g powder
  • Stick Size: 27.5 mm Width x 100~150 mm Length
  • Output/Capacity: Up to 360 stick packs/minute

Toyo offers a variety of high speed multi-lane packaging machines, to include vertical form-fill-seal stick packaging and four-side-seal sachets. Stick packs and sachets are small, simple, and convenient for pharmaceutical and unit dose packages containing tablets, powders & liquid medications and supplements.
