BioTek Instruments, Inc. offers the Synergy 2 and Synergy 4 lower-cost microplate reader alternatives for researchers using PerkinElmer’s AlphaScreen assay platform. AlphaScreen is a highly-sensitive amplified luminescent proximity homogeneous assay that screens for a broad range of targets and requires a large measurement bandwidth.
Both multi-mode microplate readers allow for large measurement bandwidths with low levels of signal. Synergy 2 uses a combination of detection modes for high-performance in Fluorescence Intensity, Fluorescence Polarization, Time-Resolved Fluorescence, Luminescence and UV-visible Absorbance.
The Synergy 4, Hybrid Microplate Reader combines filter-based and quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence detection technology to perform microplate-based assays. Synergy 4 also includes Fluorescence Intensity, Luminescence, Fluorescence Polarization, Time-Resolved Fluorescence, and UV-Visible Absorbance.
