Thermo Fisher Scientific announced that the Thermo Scientific TSQ Vantage will make its debut at Pittcon 2009.
The TSQ Vantage offers up to 10 times the signal-to-noise ratio when compared to the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum series and far exceeds any other triple quadrupole instrument in the field, according to Thermo Fisher Scientific. The instrument’s exceptional performance is due to major technical innovations in ionization efficiency and ion transmission, according to the company.
The new S-Lens ion optics system in the TSQ Vantage employs novel electrostatic field technology to capture virtually every ion and efficiently transfer it into the Thermo Scientific HyperQuad quadrupole mass analyzer. The S-Lens design eliminates mass discrimination and lowers the gas load on the expensive turbo-molecular pumps. This innovation keeps the ion optical path cleaner, for a longer period of time, while maintaining sensitivity.
To maximize the workflow capabilities of the advanced LC-MS/MS technologies, the company is releasing Thermo Scientific Transcend, a sample extraction system for the analysis of complex matrices on the mass spectrometer. The Transcend system doubles sample analysis while reducing sample preparation time and increasing detection limits. This advanced online sample extraction system, coupled with highly sensitive MS/MS on the TSQ Vantage, provides an end-to-end workflow solution for analysis of drug and other organic molecules.
