BioTek Instruments’ new microplate instrumentation technology includes the patent-pending Synergy 4 multi-detection microplate reader with hybrid technology; a multi-mode reader that combines filter-based and quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence detection technology in one instrument. Filter-based fluorescence technology provides optimal light filtering and purification for high sensitivity. The inherent design of filter systems also provides fast wavelength switching and higher read speeds. Quadruple monochromator-based fluorescence technology offers flexible wavelength selection, true spectral scanning, and reduced background noise. The combination of filter and monochromator systems in one unit leads to increased flexibility in microplate assay choice for both current and future microplate-based assays. Fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence, luminescence, and UV-visible absorbance measurement techniques are also included within the instrument.
