The Thermo Scientific Cellomics ArrayScan VTI is a modular high content screening instrument designed for high-capacity automated fluorescence imaging and quantitative analysis of fixed and live cells. The instrument features optics by Carl Zeiss, broad spectrum white-light source, 12-bit cooled CCD camera, and integrated acquisition and analysis software. The instrument is a part of the Cellomics HCS Platform of instrumentation, automation, image analysis software (BioApplications), data management, cellular bioinformatics, HCS Reagent Kits and Cell Lines and Training & Support, that together form the most world’s most productive HCS platform.
The ArrayScan VTI is automation friendly, and can integrate with Thermo Scientific and third-party devices. It is ideal for a wide variety of HCS and HCA applications, in such areas as target identification, lead optimization, secondary screening, toxicity studies, and cell biology research.
The digital camera is scientific grade with multiple resolution modes. The system has an automated objective changer, allowing for control over optical resolution and field of view. It uses a high intensity white light source delivering a broad (350nm-700nm) illumination spectrum. The system includes a 10-position wheel for excitation filters and a 5-position turret for dichroic/emission cubes.
Also included is Thermo Scientific Cellomics iQ—High Content intelligent acquisition software. This integrated real-time image acquisition and data analysis software collects the images and data required for statistically robust and biologically relevant answers. It includes the proprietary auto-focus software Thermo Scientific Cellomics AccuFocus, which provides fast focus on the biology in the well and can be used with a wide variety of plate types. Cellomics iQ can automate multiple protocols and automate changes to the objective and filter wheel, and its user-friendly menus are easy to navigate.
The ArrayScan VTI features the broadest portfolio of validated image analysis algorithms (BioApplications), allowing new users to get started with HCS immediately while providing experienced users with the flexibility to customize analysis. With the interactive rapid assay development environment users can optimize results quickly.
Thermo Scientific High-Content Informatics (HCi) automatically stores and organizes data in an enterprise class database. Images and data are accessible to any authorized person in an organization with only a network connection. Analysis and visualization are available offline, and images from 3rd party sources can be imported into the database for analysis and storage.
