Tripos International and Wyeth Discovery Research have implemented the Benchware Discovery 360 system (v. 4.0) as part of a joint project with Accenture, focused on enhancing and accelerating the drug discovery process of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
Working closely with Wyeth scientists, Wyeth Information Services and Accenture, Tripos International designed and built a discovery and collaboration software solution that integrates various new and legacy data repositories at Wyeth. An implementation of Tripos’ Benchware Discovery 360 product, the solution leverages Wyeth Discovery Research’s new data warehouse and enables Wyeth scientists to access, analyze, and share enterprise-wide research data from a single integrated discovery environment.
Benchware Discovery 360 brings together chemical and biological data with analytics and inventory data, allowing scientists to spend more time understanding what the data means and more time in the lab, increasing overall research efficiency. The initial deployment and user training for Benchware Discovery 360 was provided to 250 scientists, and will be deployed to all 1,200 discovery scientists by the end of 2008.
“This is an important milestone in our efforts to enhance and streamline the way we access, use and share the data generated by our discovery research scientists,” said Frank Walsh, Ph.D., Executive Vice President of Discovery, Wyeth Research. “We anticipate that this application will have a significant impact not only on the speed and efficiency with which our scientists can access, share and assess data, but also on the overall data packages we are able to generate for our research.”
Benchware Discovery 360 provides drug discovery scientists and research managers with a single point of entry from which they can access and analyze data from disparate enterprise repositories of biological and chemical data and share the knowledge gained. Benchware Discovery 360 integrates tightly with multiple applications from other vendors, including Spotfire, Benchware 3D Explorer, Microsoft Excel, ChemDraw, and statistical tools, providing researchers access to analysis and productivity tools.
