innovatis Inc. introduces CuBiAn, a fully-automated, membrane-free chemical analyzer that measures key parameters in cell culture media, including IgG. As a proven, established technology, the automated capabilities and membrane-free technology of CuBiAn allow for robust usage and high reproducibility, with very low operating costs in calibration and maintenance. All assays are prepared, incubated, and measured by the instrument. Pipetting, sample pre-dilution, and temperature control are all automated to provide significant assay ranges (IgG 10ug/ml – >20 g/L).
The CuBiAn can detect IgG concentrations along with 11 different metabolites in a single sample and sequence. IgG is detected by immuno-turbidimetry, while all other molecules are quantified by photometric enzyme assays. This wide measurement range allows for a nearly unlimited flexibility for new assay methods. The key parameters measured are IgG (human, humanized), glucose, lactate, ammonia, glutamine, glutamate, inorganic phosphate, LDH, total protein, and Na+, K+, Cl-. Barcode detection of samples and reagents ensure traceable analysis results. CuBiAn requires low sample volumes, and is capable of providing 90 results per hour (and 360 results with an ISE unit).
The innovatis CuBiAn photometric biochemistry analyzer and Cedex HiRes high-performance cell counter are engineered and designed to integrate with the BaychroMAT CellCount, an online fermentation monitoring automation platform co-developed with Bayer Technology Services. It features a sterile sampling system suitable for implementation with existing bioreactors, and data management software that interfaces with existing MES and LIMS process control.
