MatriCal launched the Scan X 2D, universal 2D barcode reader that can operate stand-alone or in an automated environment. This compact machine can operate in temperatures as low as -20o C, allowing tubes to be read inside an automated sample management system and preserving sample integrity. The Scan X 2D is able to read SBS/ANSI formatted vial racks (24 capacity) and tube microplates (96 and 384 capacity). The MatriScan’s optical lens scans one image of the entire rack, allowing for quick turnaround time in 15 to 30 seconds.
