Johnson & Johnson's pharma division saw slow and steady growth in 2022. The biologics Stelara and Tremfya continued to gain market share. Loss of exclusivity, however, pressured sales of the immunosuppressive drug Remicade. Additionally, Zytiga faced similar issues in the European Union. Imbruvica sales were also sluggish due to global pressures and a lagging market for chronic lymphocytic leukemia therapies. In the positive column, the oncology drugs Darzalex and Erleada saw strong sales, helping support the company's goal of achieving $60 billion in pharma sales by 2025. Johnson & Johnson plans to sharpen its focus on drug development and medical devices by spinning off its consumer health business by November 2023. —BB
